Today, scouts from Troop 57 and from across North and South Carolina as well as Virginia spent the day working on the Aviation Merit Badge at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. This museum offers incredible opportunities for scouts and hosts both Aviation and Railroading Merit Badge Opportunities.

A Scout is Reverent. Last month Carter served as a lay reader during Scout Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church. Carter, along with several other Scouts from Troop 104 joined Troop 57 when the units were merged a few years ago. Most recently, Carter earned the rank of Eagle Scout, earning well above the required merit badges. His unique project included an elevated water tank and new signage at the Uhwarrie Youth Sportman facility in Denton, NC.

One of the key components of scouting is that it is youth led. Where the older, more experienced Scouts teach skills to younger members, fostering a supportive, youth-driven learning environment.

Our SPL, Andrew, is reviewing rank requirements with younger Scouts. This peer-to-peer mentoring benefits not only the younger scouts, but also builds confidence and improves the skills of the older scouts.

Scout Sunday gives us the opportunity to say thank you to our Chartered Organization, Grace Lutheran Church, Thomasville. Today, members of Troop 57 and Pack 57 attended morning worship and served as the Acolyte, ushers and lectors. Thank you for your continued support.
