we have been a little quiet on social media but that is because we have been so busy with life.

however I couldn’t not share how thankful we are that we were able to help provide school supplies for our local kiddos during TPDs national night out event!

we are thankful Thomaston PD steps out into our community to make a difference.

When you support our mission, it’s not just for water safety and swim, while YES that is our MAIN GOAL nothing makes us happier than supporting our community kiddos!

As I laid your big siblings down for bed tonight, I gave them each a hug and a kiss, laid out their first-day-of-school outfits, and set their book bags by the door. Through every part of it, I had the heaviest weight on my chest,the feeling that something was missing.

There should be four book bags, four pairs of shoes, four outfits, four sets of bedtime hugs and kisses, and four excited kiddos ready for the first day of school.

Your daddy and I have sat together all night talking about what should have been. Even though it hurts more than words could ever describe, we sat on the couch and ate your favorite boiled peanuts.

I can’t explain how badly I want our life back. It’s bittersweet knowing you’re in Heaven, living a life more beautiful than I could ever imagine, but that doesn’t make living without you here any easier.

thank you Gavin Reid for our heaven wink today.

we should be doing pre k open house this year and my mommy heart has been hurting missing what should be.

One of Drew’s wrestling coaches suggested cross country for the offseason, so we stopped to meet the coach. Turns out he ran Gavin’s very first race. What a small world and such a special heaven wink. 💙💚

After a lot of prayer and consideration, I have made the difficult decision that we will not be offering swim lessons this summer through The Gavin Reid Mission. I have spent many nights in tears making this decision.

As many of you know, this mission was created from the deepest love and loss. This summer has been much harder on Patrick and I than we expected, and I have realized I need to give myself the space to heal and focus on my family while continuing to navigate grief.

While lessons will look different this year, our mission to protect children around water is not stopping.

Instead of swim lessons, The Gavin Reid Mission will be focusing on providing FREE U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets to families in our community. Our hope is to help educate families on safer water practices and discourage the use of puddle jumpers, which can create a false sense of security around water.

We would truly appreciate your prayers for our family as we navigate this summer and continue learning how to carry both grief and purpose together.

Our life jacket giveaway will be held at the Civic Center soon, so please be on the lookout for more information in the coming days.

Drowning prevention will always remain at the heart of this mission, and we are so thankful for every person who has supported us, prayed for us, donated, shared our story, or helped us advocate for water safety.

Thank you for continuing to stand beside our family and helping us honor Gavin in meaningful ways.

I have full faith God will lead us back to being in the water with our community kiddos! 💙💚

There are truly no words big enough to express how thankful we are to Disciples of Antioch for partnering with The Gavin Reid Mission and choosing to stand beside us in this mission that is so deeply personal to our family.

A very special thank you to Kent for organizing this and helping bring people together to support our mission. Your kindness and effort mean more than words can describe, and we are incredibly thankful for your heart behind this even through the event changes and life throwing things at us.

After losing Gavin, our world changed forever. One of the hardest realities is knowing how quickly and silently drowning can happen. One thing we talk about are PUDDLE JUMPERS and how dangerous they can be but Because of incredible people like this group, we are able to take that pain and turn it into something that protects other children and families. Your donation is not just money to us. This year it is life jackets placed into the hands of children, peace of mind for parents, and another layer of protection that could truly save a life.

Thank you for believing in our mission, for honoring Gavin’s memory, and for helping us make a difference in our community. Your kindness, compassion, and generosity remind us that even in the middle of unimaginable loss, there are still people willing to show up with love and support.

We are beyond grateful for your support and the impact you are helping create. Gavin’s story continues to save lives because of people like you and that alone is something Patrick & I will never be able to thank you enough for.
