As schools continue preparing for the 2026–2027 school year, student and faculty safety remains a top priority for many.
Several GISA schools have chosen to partner with Defend Systems to provide active intruder response training designed specifically for educational environments. Their approach focuses on practical decision-making, communication, and preparedness strategies tailored to the realities schools face every day. The DEFEND® curriculum was developed through years of research into real active shooter events and focuses on practical, empowering strategies tailored to schools and campuses.
More than 320 schools and districts nationwide have participated in Defend Systems training, including GISA member schools such as The Galloway School, The Heritage School, The Bedford School, Christian Heritage School, Seeds of Excellence Christian Academy, and St. George’s Episcopal School.
