This NET fiscal Impact is not well known and it's remarkable: Refugees and asylees had a positive net fiscal impact on the U.S. government over the 15-year period, totaling $123.8 billion. The net fiscal benefit to the federal government was estimated at $31.5 billion and approximately $92.3 billion to state and local governments. When compared with the total U.S. population on a per capita basis, refugees and asylees had a comparable net fiscal impact. College-Educated Immigrants in the United States

An underappreciated recent U.S. immigration trend is the rising number of immigrants who hold university-level degrees. This is particularly the case for recently arrived immigrants: 48 percent of those coming to the United States within the 2018-22 period had a college degree. Inspite of widely circulated propaganda, noncitizen do NOT vote in U.S. elections! It is illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal or state elections in the United States. There is no evidence that unauthorized immigrants, green-card holders, or immigrants on temporary visas are voting in significant numbers, despite some claims that “millions” of noncitizens are voting in U.S. elections. Here is some food for thought: Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office, writes "that the U.S. labor force grew at an average annual rate of 1.2 percent from 1948 to 2022, but CBO is assuming that it will only grow 0.4 percent annually over the next decade. . . . Raising the rate of labor force growth to 1.2 percent would require admitting an annual average of 1.4 million more immigrants each year, if done in a reformed immigration system that focused on economic growth. Notice that if immigration reform were done in a strategic fashion, it could also raise the average quality of human capital in the labor force and add to labor productivity in the process. Thus, the overall increase in economic growth might exceed a jump from 1.8 to 2.6 percent and the increase in revenues could come in higher than $1.2 trillion."
