Mountain Laurel Learning Cooperative Mountain Laurel Learning Cooperative (MLLC) We operate a licensed Montessori child care center for youth ages 3 – 12. Our strength is that we are parent-run.

MLLC is a nonprofit organization comprised of a group of parents, community members, and educators interested in providing unique learning experiences to local youth. We also offer other programs such as Spanish camps and a children’s community garden. We are the only childcare center in WV run in this manner. We also have two certified Montessori educators that bring a wealth of knowledge about c

hild development to our area. MLLC is always working on bringing more programs to our rural community that are not currently being offered.

End of year field trips are the best! Lower Elementary students visited the Ruth Enlow Library, where they were introduced to so many amazing programs and opportunities. Including a whole building full of books that they could borrow!
Thanks to the outstanding staff who were incredibly kind! The kids were engaged and excited throughout the visit. If you find time over the summer, please consider visiting the library with your kids!

A stop at Cathedral State Park, though a little cold, was absolutely lovely. Lunch, free play - and a “colors in nature” scavenger hunt led to revisiting all they knew about symmetry. The moss, sticks, and dandelions they gathered became material for a nature mandala. They became so quiet and focused while we worked learning about balance while creating something beautiful together.
