Join us for our first clinic of the year on Tuesday, June 4th, at 6pm as we cover showmanship and horsemanship with clinician Jenna Mickelson. Please bring your show halter and lead. The schedule for the remaining clinics will be shared shortly.

Tuesday we had another great evening of weather for our Trail & Ranch pleasure clinic! Jenna went over how to maneuver trail obstacles and we had some fun learning about the Ranch classes. I appreciate the kids, parents and Clinicians that are able to make these sessions great. 12 days and it’s fair time!!

Attention Pennington County 4-H horse project members. Our next clinic is on Tuesday, June 27th. Starting at 6:00 pm sharp! We are excited to have Jenna Mickelson as our Clinician to work on Trail and Ranch Pleasure. Jenna has an extensive career as a professional trainer, coach and show career. Showing horses for her clients and personal horses at breed shows. Jenna owns and operates Great Potential Stables. We are excited to learn the best ways to maneuver our horses through trail obstacles and how we work our horses for the Ranch pleasure class.

What a great night to have a horse clinic! Kayla Hanson came out to work with our 4-H horse project members with Hunt seat and Western Horsemanship! It was a beautiful night for learning new things!!

Update for June 22nd 4-H horse clinic!!

5:00 - 6:00 pm : Hunt seat and Equitation practice
6:00 - 8:00 pm : Western pleasure and Horsemanship

We are excited to let all of you know that Kayla Hanson, Head Equestrian Coach for the University of Minnesota Crookston Equestrian team is our clinician for our 4-H horse project clinic on June 22nd.

Updated schedule:
There is a livestock exhibitor meeting on the 20th so that clinic will be on the 22nd instead.

The clinics will start at 6:00 pm and be held at the Pennington County fairgrounds horse arena. Please see schedule below.

June 6th- "You call it" clinic. We will also start out by going over the rules and legal tack for 4-H. Please bring tack and bits you will be using so we can make sure we all have tack that is approved for 4-H.

June 22nd - You call it" clinic we will vote on what to work on.

June 27th- Jenna Mickelson will be coming to give a clinic on Trail and Ranch. We may also be able to set up private lessons with Jenna before the clinic. These lessons would be the responsibility of the 4-h member or family to cover the cost. Please contact Miranda Carlson to set those up.

July 11th- last practice before the fair so come prepared with anything you need help with. Grooming, any tack or bits you need to check. And we will have pot luck dinner with grilled hot dogs and brats. And give away gift certificates.
