Congratulations to my baby! Through it all….I know you at times you want to give up, but you won’t! You’re not letting your sight define you. I am so proud of the man you are becoming. I prayed and prayed and prayed, for you to start using your cane, who you’ve named “Nick.” You was worried about what others may think of you, say, stare or just being ashamed of using it😭 But look at you now! Flourishing! I’m extremely proud of you, I love you, you’re amazing, you’re determined, you’re faithful, grateful and blessed! My baby y’all😭

Since November, I’ve been working behind the scenes to bring this vision to life. I had to pause planning for a moment to be a blessing and support others, but now I’m excited to finally share it with the community and ask for your support of my son’s foundation, The DaMyri Stepter Foundation, Inc.

For the first time in Thibodaux, Louisiana, we are bringing an elegant outdoor fall “pop-up picnic” experience to the community.

In Honor of Blindness Awareness Month the DaMyri Stepter Foundation is excited to announce that we will be awarding three (3) scholarships in the amount of $500 each to school-aged children in the tri parish area. This scholarship opportunity is to defray the cost of glasses, travel, or other expenses related to vision care and/or treatment. It is also created to encourage, support, and invest in the future of our young students as they continue their educational journey.

Congratulations to another grant winner from the DaMyri Stepter Foundation, Inc. Nine year old Khali is a very beautiful, bright, and intelligent young girl who likes to tell jokes and loves, to listen to live bands! She was born completely blind and has had over forty surgeries and a cornea transplant at nine days old. Khali, congratulations again, and our prayer is that you continue to be the best you can be in life. Good bless you and continuous prayers for you and your journey.
