Most people that have thought about growing their own food have no idea where to start…

And even when they do, a lot of the time they put it aside because they don’t think they have what it takes to get started — whether that’s time, experience, or money.

Everyone can grasp the value of growing their own food, but few people are able to get started on their own.

That’s when we come in. The Kalos Project helps homeowners across Houston take their first steps toward food independence. Walking them through each step in their growing journey, and building a support system they can rely on.

So let’s get started growing food. We got your back. 🌱

Start growing your own food!! 🥬

There’s no better time than now to take the first step towards food independence for you and your family. Wether that means a full food forest, or a starter Vego Garden bed and a fruit tree — we can help you get there.

We work with nature, giving your plants the best love and care they could ask for so that they can give back the nutrients you need when it’s harvest time.

Our Living Harvest system offers the easiest way to jumpstart your journey growing food so that you can begin taking back control of what you eat, for a price that your family can afford.

Thank you to the Procinskys and everyone that showed up to visit their food forest garden this last Friday! 🌱

This is what The Kalos Projecy was built for. By bringing together leaders from across Houston who are already doing the work, already serving their communities, we can multiply the impact of what any one of us could do alone — building a family rooted in growing our own food, strengthening our local food economy, and building opportunities for the youth in our community.

And none of this happens without people like the Procinskys. Their willingness to open up their home and share what they’ve built is what made this moment possible. Their garden doesn’t only serve as a way to grow food, but as a means of growing a community around those with a shared vision, giving us a glimpse into what growing our own food can look like.

The community, the connections we make by being in this space and learning together, it’s something unbelievable. This is why we do it. ✨

Nutrient dense soil makes nutrient dense food! 🥭

By giving your fruit trees proper care with the right soil, the use of microbiology, and the right fungi, you can ensure a thriving root system and a healthy tree that will provide delicious, and nutritious fruit for years to come.

Thank you and for helping us give fruit trees across Houston the love they deserve 🌱

Take care of your roots! 🌱

Healthy roots = a healthy plant. It’s that simple.

Strong roots help your plant absorb more nutrients, grow faster, and handle stress better. Whether that’s heat, drought, or just a tough season.

Thank you and for helping us provide nutrient dense soil for plants across Houston.

Food used to come from local farms…

Now, as food economies depend on big agriculture, we’ve lost the connection we used to have with our food sources.

Steve , has played a crucial role in connecting Kalos with those who share this same concern, helping our communities be rebuilt around healthy food sources and reconnecting our society with nature 🌱

Thank you Seth & Kirstin for sharing your concern about our lack of awareness in our diets and our overlapping purpose of restoring our local food networks 🌱🧑‍🌾
