Decommissioned solar panels are getting a second life at our ReUse campus at 751 W Union Street in Athens, where a 21.15 kW array will offset 32% of the campus's energy use, and we're grateful to Appalachian Renewable Power for supporting the installation and to the Solar Moonshot Program for a grant that helped cover the cost.

Over the past year, the Environmental Education team has had the wonderful opportunity to facilitate 20 trail maintenance and trail-building days in the U.S. Forest Service - Wayne National Forest (14 days with Serenity Grove and 6 with Boots on the Trail.)

We are incredibly grateful to the partners who helped make this program possible. A huge thank you to Rocky Brands, Inc. for generously donating boots for many of our participants, the National Forest Foundation for providing funding that supported the program, including participant lunches and stipends, and the The Buckeye Trail Association for sharing their knowledge and helping us identify how and where we could make the Wayne National Forest more accessible and for everyone.

We’re proud of the work our participants have accomplished and grateful to everyone who helped make these experiences possible!

Congratulations to Route 9 Cooperative on this moment! 🌰

For more than 30 years, these Carroll County farmers have grown and processed chestnuts, and more recently, acorns, turning overlooked crops into something the world is starting to notice. We've had the privilege of supporting that work within the last few years.

Produce isn't the only thing harvested this time of year. 🧡

Yesterday our team and volunteers pulled on waders and harvested iron oxide at the Truetown discharge, where 6,000 pounds of iron leave an abandoned mine every single day.

Pollution into paint.
