You have forced our hand. Due to missing items that were intended to be listed for sale or auction, we are now going to have cameras and the cases will be locked only for certain members to have keys. We hate to think that somebody is volunteering solely for the purpose of using the store as their personal jackpot. We do have some volunteers who have suffered a great loss due to the recent fires. We are understanding of their situation, and we welcome them to shop. But for people to be taking items that are not for free, or allowing their friends and other customers to go back into volunteer-only areas, that stops immediately.
We have rules in our volunteer agreements and handbooks that are going to be fully enforced. If volunteers do not like those rules, they are will not be allowed to volunteer. Yes, we are a giving closet, but we always state that items in the cases and behind the desk area are to be paid for, and that they are NOT free. We use these items to fundraise to pay for our utilities, for the fixtures and hangers, and supplies that we use on an everyday basis. Stealing from us means that makes it more difficult to continue operating without those funds, which means you are stealing from everybody else in the community, and in the surrounding area, who utilize our store. We are posting photos of the following items so that if you see them, please notify us. These are items that were taken without paying for them. If you have them, please either return them or come down and pay a fair donation for those items.
