You're invited to join us at the Granada Theatre this Thursday, June 25th, at 7:00 p.m.

"It Started Here, in The Dalles: The Passionate, Notorious Story of Dr. Marie Equi" presented by Michael Helquist.

Join Michael Helquist, the award-winning biographer of the woman who got her start in The Dalles in 1892 and was once considered the most dangerous woman in the Pacific Northwest. This evening of storytelling will include local history and parallels to today's national conflicts.

Sponsored by the Original Wasco County Courthouse in partnership with the Oregon Historical Society with funding from the Wasco County Cultural Trust.

Admission is free.

FOR THE ORIGINAL WASCO COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Programs begin at 1:30 p.m. in the upstairs courtroom of the 1859 courthouse (downstairs monitor available for those who don't climb stairs.)
410 West 2nd Place, The Dalles behind the Chamber of Commerce / Visitors' Center

The Boys of ‘61” is the topic of the Saturday, March 7th Vercouteren Regional History Forum at the Original Wasco County Courthouse. Ft. Dalles Museum Coordinator Robert Po***ck will explain the history and legacy of the Grand Army of the Republic or G.A.R. This once large and politically powerful nationwide organization was made up of veterans of the Civil War and was active in The Dalles.

The program begins at 1:30 p.m. in the courtroom of the 1859 Courthouse, located at 410 W. 2nd Pl, The Dalles. Admission is free, donations accepted.

The Other Mayor Mays-Rodger Nichols

One hundred and twenty-eight years before Rich Mays was elected Mayor of The Dalles, Robert Mays had the honor. He also served as Wasco County Judge, and represented Wasco County in the first state legislative session in 1860. Though largely forgotten now, his is a fascinating story.

Admission is free for all the February programs, donations gladly accepted!
