Operation Girl Scout House- repairing and revitalizing The Girl Scout House.

Repairs-
Broken windows
Broken window sills
Fix underfloor
Remove asbestos mastic
Repipe failing cast-iron pipes
Broken bath fan
Porch
Fix some outlets that don't work correctly
Siding

Revitalize-
Flooring
Paint house
Update lighting to led
Put in mini splits for better cooling in summer

The costs are around $60,000 to do all this.

Friends of Girl Scouts The Dalles also called FoGS is a Non-Profit organization charged with the care and keeping of The Girl Scout House in The Dalles. The mission of FoGS is to continue to have The Dalles Girl Scout House available for local area Girl Scouts so each Troop isn't charged for the use of the house. The house is no longer a Girl Scout property and receives absolutely no funding from Girl Scout Council. The expenses of maintaining the house is covered solely through charitable donations. It is expected that an effort is made by each of the local area Girl Scout Troops to obtain donations to keep needed items stocked and funds to pay for water bill, electric bill, gas bill and other needed maintenance items. Donated items can be brought to the Girl Scout House during Troop meetings or by contacting volunteers.
