Great work party tonight! There are 3 separate bilge sections in our boat. This is the bilge in the forward cabin. We inherited the boat with this water in it. No telling how long it's been there. We pumped an estimated 45 gallons out by hand tonight. Then scrubbed all the grime out and wiped it down with simple green. Now it smells minty fresh!

We had an incredibly successful weekend at Nor'Wester Regatta. This is such an amazing group of people!!!

Four local Sea Scouts placed in multiple events at a regional Regatta, but say the biggest wins came in confidence, teamwork and stepping outside their comfort zones.

Some of the scouts went swimming on Sunday. We got our annual swimming requirements done, then worked on parts of the Swimming Merritt Badge for ordinary, and had a little fun with basketball and the rope swing!

The was no school on Monday so some scouts took advantage of the extra time to sew on patches!

A few activities kept us busy over the holidays. First we had a very fun Christmas party! Secret Santas, a white elephant gift exchange, and games and snacks for everyone!

Then, a big thanks to the Port of The Dalles and The Dalles Marina for letting us put our new scout sailboat in the water for a few weeks. Learning the names of a sailboat is so much more fun on the boat than in a classroom! Worked on the boat, fixed a few items, got things organized, and realized they have so much more to learn! Finally after 3 weeks we put the boat back on the trailer...until next time!

On Tues, Nov 11th, the Sea Scouts participated in our Veteran's Day Parade. Thank you to our Veterans and all those who come out to show their support!

Fruit & nuts will be available for pick up in The Dalles on Sat, Dec 6th. Info will be sent to those who place an order. If the 6th doesn't work for you, please let me know and we'll make other arrangements.

For all my out of towners, the nuts can be mailed (at your expense), but the fruit must be picked up/delivered in person.

We had a fun weekend in Seattle attending Safety at Sea. Training included hands-on practice with fire extinguisher, fire hoses, flares, towing a boat, engine repair, Life ring toss, Aids to Navigation & Rules of the Road, Radio communications, and more! And the weather even cooperated in the Pacific Northwest!
