How do we carry on the legacy of our fallen heroes? At Post 21, we do it one ceremony at a time, one conversation at a time, one example at a time.
Today’s Memorial Day Ceremony carried that legacy forward in a powerful way—through the flag folding ceremony and the meaning behind each of the 13 folds, the construction and symbolism of the battlefield cross, and the story and significance of the poppy flower. These traditions remind us that remembrance must be taught, shared, and preserved for future generations.
Our friends from Blue Star Mothers of America Yellow Rose Chapter TX20, the Daughters of the American Revolution and local Sarah Kincaid Cook Chapter, the City of The Colony and Police Department Honor Guard, Scout Troop 226, and talented local performers all came together to deliver a meaningful tribute honoring our fallen heroes while sharing the military traditions connected to Memorial Day.
Most importantly, our community showed up. Your presence demonstrated respect, gratitude, and unwavering support for those who served and sacrificed for our nation.
And to the veterans with us today—thank you. Because of you, the mission continues.
