On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress made it official: thirteen stars and thirteen stripes would represent our new nation.

Nearly 250 years later, the Stars and Stripes still fly as one of the most recognized symbols of freedom in the world. For DAR, the flag is more than a symbol. It is a living connection to the patriots who fought for the ideals it represents and a reminder of the values we carry forward every day.

Through flag ceremonies, educational programs, and community events, DAR chapters nationwide work to ensure that the history and meaning behind our flag is never forgotten. On Flag Day and every day, we are proud to honor it.

🇺🇸 With Heartfelt Gratitude to National Society Daughters of the American Revolution 🇺🇸

As we unveil our newest exhibit, "Women of Valor: 250 Years of Women Serving Our Nation," we extend our deepest thanks to the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for their partnership and generous support in making this exhibit possible.

As America commemorates its 250th anniversary, this exhibit shines a light on the remarkable women whose service, sacrifice, leadership, and courage helped build, defend, and preserve our Nation across more than 250 years. Their stories remind us that women have been serving our country since before there was a United States and continue to serve with distinction today.

Through DAR’s commitment to preserving and sharing American history, thousands of visitors will have the opportunity to discover the inspiring stories of these women, learn from their experiences, and better understand the vital role they played in shaping our Nation.

We are honored to partner with an organization that shares our dedication to honoring those who came before us and ensuring their legacy endures for future generations.

Thank you, DAR, for helping us tell these important stories and for ensuring that the women who served our Nation receive the recognition they so richly deserve.

✨ Together, we are preserving history, honoring her service, and inspiring the generations to come.

God bless them all.

D-Day Remembrance 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

On that historic day, thousands of Allied troops faced overwhelming odds as they fought to liberate Europe from tyranny. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom changed the course of history and secured the liberties we cherish today.

Many never returned home. Others carried the physical and emotional scars of war for the rest of their lives. All answered the call of duty when their nation and the world needed them most.

As Blue Star Mothers, we understand the sacrifices made not only by those who serve, but also by the families who love and support them. Today, we honor the heroes of D-Day and remember the generations of service members who have followed in their footsteps.

May we never forget the courage displayed on the shores of Normandy, the sacrifices made for freedom, and the legacy left by the Greatest Generation.

We remember.
We honor.
We are forever grateful.

Before the Revolution had soldiers…
it had men willing to speak.

May 29, 1765.

Ten years before the Declaration of Independence…

Patrick Henry stood before the Virginia House of Burgesses and challenged the authority of the British Crown.

The issue was the newly passed Stamp Act—

A tax imposed by Parliament on legal documents, newspapers, and printed materials throughout the colonies.

To Britain, it was a way to raise revenue.

To many colonists, it represented something far more dangerous:

Taxation without representation.

That day, Patrick Henry introduced what became known as the Virginia Resolves—

A series of resolutions arguing that only Virginia’s elected representatives had the right to tax Virginians.

Today, that may sound ordinary.

But in 1765?

Openly challenging Parliament in this way was considered radical.

Dangerous.

Even reckless.

According to long-standing tradition, Henry’s speech became so fiery that he compared the actions of King George III to tyrants of the past.

The chamber erupted.

Some shouted “Treason!”

And Henry reportedly answered:

“If this be treason, make the most of it.”

Historians still debate the exact wording remembered from that day—

But there is no debate about the effect.

Something had changed.

Because before revolutions are fought on battlefields…

They begin in moments where people decide they are no longer afraid to speak openly.

Before muskets.
Before armies.
Before independence itself—

There were ideas powerful enough to challenge an empire.

That’s what makes moments like this so important.

The Revolution was not born all at once.

It was built slowly—

Through speeches…
through gatherings…
through ordinary men willing to risk reputation, career, and safety for principles they believed belonged to every free people.

And maybe that’s the deeper lesson hidden inside all of this:

Long before nations are defended by force…

They are first built by the courage to speak.

What do you think—

Was the Revolution truly born on the battlefield…

or in the moments people first began openly challenging authority?

And for everyone following along—
