Princess Janae Place As you may know, transgender folks face issues like violence, discrimination, homelessness, and poverty at staggeringly disproportionate rates.

The mission of Princess Janae Place is to help people of trans experience maximize their full potential as they transition from homelessness to independent living. When trans folks are in need of housing, we are often turned away or face hate and violence while in the shelter system. In the Bronx in NYC, Princess Janae Place is striving to end that by providing a safer space for trans and GNC peop

le to find a home support and comfort from folks in our community. To achieve this, PJP needs your support. Princess Janae Place will be a housing facility for people of trans experience, providing shelter, mental health, legal, job placement, and general support services as they transition from homeless to independent living. The mission is to help people of trans experience maximize their full potential by providing residential, educational, clinical, and recreational services that create and nurture connections to the community and the world.

Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

Housing, health care, and stability are deeply connected. For Black trans women and Black people living with HIV, the lack of safe housing makes prevention, treatment, and long term care harder to access and harder to maintain.

Stigma does not exist in isolation. It shows up in housing denial, medical neglect, and policies that fail our communities.
Breaking stigma means building community.

It means safe housing.
It means care rooted in dignity and respect.

At Princess Janae Place, we know that housing is health care, and our lives depend on it.

Today, on World AIDS Day, we honor our community with truth, love, and intention.

At Princess Janae Place, we stand with every person living with HIV, especially those navigating homelessness, housing instability, and the barriers that make care harder to access. HIV does not exist in isolation. It intersects with housing, safety, identity, and access to support. When our community has stable housing, they have the foundation to stay connected to care, stay on treatment, and stay supported.

We uplift the lives taken too soon and celebrate everyone who continues to fight for health, dignity, and the right to live fully without shame.

Our work is a promise.
A promise that no one should ever face their diagnosis alone.
A promise that housing is healthcare.
A promise that our community will always have somewhere to turn.
