๐ŸŒž Making progress in time for the JBOLC Market Season.

We've been working to transform the community garden into an Educational Garden of Cultural Heritage, growing culturally relevant plants to share with our community.

Shoutout to CitizensNYC, and our dedicated volunteers who helped make this possible!

๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŒพ MICRO GRANT AWARDS! $10,000 to 10 NYC urban growers who are increasing their capacity to provide nourishing food, education, growing skills, and spaces to cultivate community for NYC residents.

๐ŸชFollow their pages to support and participate in their offerings!

๐Ÿฅ•Every applicant can activate funding for their projects - the more we uplift the power of urban agriculture to our local city, state, and federal policy and budget hearings, the better for all of us.

๐ŸŒป Look out this summer and fall to learn more about what groups are doing to increase access to food and land in NYC.

๐Ÿ„โ€๐ŸŸซThank you to the selection committee for their work in co-creating an application and selection process for our first ever round of micro grants. FSNYC is committed to move this funding from the USDA and directly into the hands of land stewards here on Lenape land.

Last weekend at the Bronx History Museum: After working on composting in their garden, student volunteers got an amazing museum tour.

The exhibit, โ€œWhen the Bronx moved,โ€ about the numerous dance styles that emerged from the Bronx, was especially awesome.

This exhibit is about the dance forms originated in The Bronx, 1970โ€“84, including Salsa, the Hustle, Rocking, Burning, Breakin', Disco, Boogying, and other forms of African-American and Afro-Caribbean dance. Exhibit features rare personal photos and memorabilia, clothing, oral histories, video clips, and more. Check it out!
