The Bronx Music Heritage Center (BMHC) celebrates the rich musical legacy of the Bronx by drawing upon and restoring pride in its history. The BMHC honors Bronx music "Living Legends", hosts concerts and discussions, celebrates music history, and provides artists with a space to create and share their work. The Bronx Music Heritage Center is an initiative of WHEDco (www.whedco.org). The BMHC Labor

atory opened in April 2012 at 1303 Louis Niñé Boulevard, Bronx, NY. The lab is a "pop-up" space to share and experience art and music. Artists are given the chance to curate the space with concerts, screenings, installations, and other events. Building off the success of the BMHC lab, WHEDco will open a permanent music venue and cultural center, the Bronx Music Hall, in Bronx Commons, its third affordable housing development, currently under construction. Bronx Commons will transform the final undeveloped parcel of the Melrose Commons Urban Renewal Area into a vibrant center for living, working, learning, shopping and entertainment – including 305 affordable apartments, a landscaped public plaza, places to eat and shop, all anchored by the Bronx Music Hall. WHEDco and co-developer BFC Partners began construction on Bronx Commons in 2017. BMHC programming is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. The BMHC is deeply grateful to the many contributors, including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, whose generous gifts help provide free community arts programming. Lend your support and get involved: Like this page, tell your friends, or simply visit www.thisisbronxmusic.org to learn more about the BMHC and the vibrant community that is the Bronx!

We're so happy that members of the BMH family took part in the HISTORIAS Table Talks Domino event. Jorge Vazquez, our parranda musical director and our conga class instructor took part, as did one of the BMH's biggest supporters, Sonia Manzano. Just in time to celebrate Puerto Rican Day Parade week in NYC.

In celebration of the 69th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade, we are excited to launch the newest episode of Domino Table Talks!
