Bronx Coalition for Parks and Green Spaces

Bronx Coalition for Parks and Green Spaces The Bronx Parks Speak Up is an annual community networking conference for park and environmental stakeholders.

Since it formed, the Coalition has had two major goals: first, to reach out to community organizations in the Bronx and ask them to join the coalition and second, to continue to host the Annual Bronx Parks Speak Up. Organized by the Bronx Coalition for Parks and Green Spaces (BCPGS), this day-long event draws over 250 Bronx residents, elected officials and agency personnel. It gives its attendees

the chance to learn about government and non-government resources and participate in face-to-face discussions with city and local elected and appointed officials.

Mayor Adams’ refusal to restore critical funding for NYC Parks is outrageous!
This is a direct attack on the health, safety, and well-being of the millions of New Yorkers who rely on these vital green spaces.

The FY25 budget cuts gutted NYC Parks, eliminating nearly 800 essential positions, enforcing a hiring freeze, and cutting programs that families, seniors, and children in every borough depend on.

Despite his campaign promise to allocate 1% of the city budget to NYC Parks, Mayor Adams has chosen to prioritize austerity measures over our communities.
