Van Nest Neighborhood Alliance The Van Nest Neighborhood Alliance is formed as a neighborhood association for Van Nest residents to maintain their quality of life and address concerns.

The Van Nest Neighborhood Alliance (VNNA) is a 501C3 formed as a neighborhood association for the Bronx Van Nest community conducting monthly meetings with residents to determine their concerns and goals. Using this input, the VNNA works in close cooperation with local law enforcement and elected officials to maintain and update community infrastructure and, where practical, undertake community projects, all for the purpose of maintaining quality of life in the Van Nest community.

Please keep the families of 1730 Garfield street in your prayers. Tragedy burned down their home today that they've lived in for years. VNNA has reached out to the family they know and asked what they need. As we assisted families of the Mead Street fires, a community must come together when needed. We'll update all as we're informed. Keep the prayers coming!

2026 NYC BALLOT PROPOSALS

WHY WE MUST VOTE NO!

PROPOSAL #1 — PUBLIC SPACES

NO to less community input on decisions affecting our sidewalks and streets.

PROPOSAL #2 — GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS

NO to speeding up billions in taxpayer-funded contracts with fewer safeguards.

PROPOSAL #3 — STREET PROJECTS & CITY PROPERTY

NO to fast-tracking bike lanes, bus lanes and street redesigns while reducing community review.

PROPOSAL #4 — BUILDING PERMITS

NO to shortcuts that could reduce scrutiny of development and neighborhood impacts.

PROPOSAL #5 — RAINY DAY FUND

NO to locking away more taxpayer dollars while communities have urgent needs today.

THE REAL ISSUE: DEMOCRACY

These proposals could mean faster government, more administrative power and fewer opportunities for residents and Community Boards to be heard.

Efficiency should NEVER come at the expense of public participation and accountability.

VOTE NO ON PROPOSALS 1–5

Protect Community Input. Protect Accountability. Protect Our Voice.
