Service, dedication, and determination define our Veteran Scholars. We are proud to recognize Patricia Ciampa, U.S. Air Force Veteran.

“I’ve found MCNY staff and students to be sincerely supportive, accepting and welcoming. Like being in the military, where honor, teamwork, and self-discipline are instilled from the start, the MCNY Veterans Center of Excellence has been an extension of those godly values that made a seemingly impossible task become a glorious reality!

Congratulations to the Classes of Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026!

The 49th Commencement Exercises of Metropolitan College of New York brought together graduates, families, faculty, staff, trustees, alumni, and friends at the Javits Center to celebrate this important milestone. Presiding over the ceremony was President Charles J. Gibbs, Ed.D., during his second commencement as President of MCNY.

On behalf of the entire MCNY community, we celebrate our graduates and all they have accomplished. As the newest members of our alumni family, they carry forward the legacy of our founder, Audrey Cohen, whose vision of Purpose-Centered Education continues to inspire generations of graduates to lead, serve, and create positive change.

This year's honorary degree recipients were Dr. Jocelynne Rainey, MS '97, President and CEO of Brooklyn Org and proud MCNY alumna, and Mr. Steve Bandrowczak, former CEO of Xerox Holdings Corporation. Their leadership and commitment to expanding opportunity served as an inspiration for the Class of 2026.

Welcome to the proud community of MCNY alumni!

Some moments tell you exactly what kind of day it is going to be. As Vice President of Academic Affairs, Humphrey Crookendale, J.D., stepped through the doorway carrying the MCNY Mace for the second consecutive year, the applause began. Behind him, the Class of 2026 erupted in cheers.

As the longest-serving faculty member at Metropolitan College of New York, VP Crookendale has spent decades helping scholars find their way forward. The warm welcome he received from graduates, families, faculty and staff said everything about the place he holds in the MCNY community.

From that very first moment, there was no question. It was going to be a special day.

Happy Father's Day from Metropolitan College of New York!

Today, we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors who show up, lead with love, and help shape the next generation. Fatherhood is not measured by titles alone. It is found in the lessons shared, the sacrifices made, and the everyday moments that leave a lasting impact.

At MCNY, we are proud to support fathers through our Dads Who Lead Fatherhood Initiative, a free program designed to strengthen families, build opportunities, and empower fathers to thrive at home, at work, and in their communities. Through parenting education, workforce development, academic pathways, and supportive services, Dads Who Lead is helping fathers build brighter futures for themselves and their children.

We extend our sincere thanks to the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) for its support and investment in fathers and families through this important initiative.

At Metropolitan College of New York, many scholars begin their journey looking for an opportunity to build a better future. What they find is a community that believes in them, supports them, and helps them achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.

"I came to MCNY because I wanted more for myself. I wanted growth, purpose, stability, and the chance to prove to myself that I was capable of achieving something greater. What I found here was not just an education, but resilience. I learned that success is not about having a perfect path. It is about continuing to move forward even when life tries to pull you backward."
— Robbie Ortiz, Class of 2026, Pathways to Careers Graduate

Robbie's story reflects the determination, courage, and resilience that define so many of our scholars. His journey reminds us that when opportunity meets hard work and support, extraordinary things can happen. Together...We Rise.

Congratulations to Robbie and all of our graduates of the Class of 2026!
