SFGAD INC. Ms. Keisha McCroskey has fed over 500 individuals and families in 2023. She provided a resource center in the South Bronx area so families could feel safe.

She has helped homeless individuals find permanent housing and provided them with furniture. Where life can be changed for the better and a class of hope for the community, she aims to extend a helping hand and garner the resources needed to help our community meet its needs and enhance its future goals. She wants people who have alcohol and drug problems to get the counseling they need. She wants online or underemployed people to get the necessary help by helping them develop resumes that fit the jobs they're applying for. She wants the folks to be computer literate; as a result, she has provided a safe environment for them to learn how to use the computer to fill out forms and take the necessary tests.

She could be anyone: a daughter, a friend, a coworker, a neighbor, or you. Survivors of sexual assault, drug-facilitated assault, and workplace sexual harassment deserve to be heard, believed, and supported.

Drug-facilitated assault is still assault. When someone is unable to consent, there is no consent.

Workplace harassment is not “part of the job.” It is illegal, and it is trauma. Too often, survivors stay silent because they fear losing their job, damaging their reputation, or being disbelieved.

Believing women is the first step to safety. Listening without judgment is an act of support. Breaking the silence is a step toward healing and accountability.

Our community deserves safe spaces for honest conversations, healing, and hope.

Seeds For Growth And Development Inc. is preparing to launch the Breaking the Silence Tour, running from September through December. This tour will bring a series of conferences to schools, churches, and community organizations to raise awareness and discuss the trauma affecting our community.

Together, we will create opportunities to learn, share, connect with resources, and support individuals and families impacted by trauma, violence, human trafficking, and other challenges.

At SFGAD, we hate saying "no."

When a survivor of human trafficking, domestic violence, or homelessness reaches out to us, they are often at their most vulnerable point. They are looking for safety, for hope, and for a chance to rebuild. Our mission is to always be that open door.

However, to maintain our "no turn-away" policy, we need your help. Funding for our building is the foundation of everything we do. Without a secure facility, we cannot provide the safe space that survivors so desperately need to begin their healing journey in the Bronx.

Your donation ensures that when someone in crisis calls, we can always say "yes." Whether it's a warm environment, a healing workshop, or simply a place where they are seen and supported, your generosity makes it possible.

I had the honor of participating in the Hip Hop Nation Flag conference, and now I’m excited to take this movement to the next level.

Join us for the SFGAD Anti-Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Tour. We aim to educate our communities about the red flags of these pressing issues. Together, we can make a difference and eradicate human trafficking and domestic violence.
