Hey Booettes and Boos!! We were so grateful to welcome Glory into our office one day, and her presence has truly been a blessing ever since. From the moment we met her, she showed genuine interest in our community center—asking thoughtful questions about what we offer, volunteering her time, and embracing the space as her own little sanctuary. Whether she’s helping out, sharing laughs, or simply relaxing in our cozy common area, Glory has become part of what makes our community so special.

Our conversations with her are always uplifting and real, and her positive energy lights up the room. That’s why we wanted her to share her experience with all of you—so you can see that the love and support in this space is more than just talk. We’re committed to making this a true home away from home, a safe haven where Black women and girls feel seen, heard, and valued. We hope Glory’s story helps you feel the warmth and comfort that fills these walls every day.

And if this video moved you, please donate to our GoFundMe in the bio to help keep this space open and let us continue meeting and connecting with more women like Glory.

Hey everyone, here’s a recap of our recent farm volunteer day, where we planted rose and lavender bushes. It was a long and productive day—we grilled, shared delicious food, and soaked in the good vibes. Unfortunately, just as we were finishing up, a few volunteers and I discovered that our berry bushes had been trampled, plants were snapped, and someone had ripped out our hibiscus. We then had to spend an extra hour clearing the area and doing our best to save the remaining plants. What started as a joyful, productive day ended in frustration. This is the side of our work that often goes unseen. We’ve had ongoing challenges with people in the neighborhood: trees stolen, trash dumped on the farm, and now, someone seems to be targeting us. This Sunday, we found our speaker stolen as well. The work is hard, exhausting, and at times deeply discouraging—constantly trying to show our humanity just to receive a bit of care and respect for what we do. Between unreliable funders and having to fend off those who harm what we’re building for the community, it can feel overwhelming. Yet, despite it all, we keep trying to find the good, taking things one day at a time. Anger is draining, and we refuse to let it consume us. We learn from these moments and adapt. For the future of The Black Joy Farm and The Alice Fields Community Center, we will keep moving forward, and there will be a shift.

Our GoFundMe campaign is still active, and we need your support to reach our goal and save The Alice Fields Community Center! If 5,000 of you can donate at least $10, we will be able to keep inspiring and supporting our community in the ways it needs most. Every contribution counts—please help us make a difference!

We’re still fundraising for the rent to keep The Alice Fields Community Center open, and imma keep a buck with y’all. It’s been hard; we’ve not been supported in the way we would like, and we've come to a stop in terms of donations. If 5,000 of y’all donate even 5-10$ we can make a dent in what we need to pay for this back rent. I’ve built this organization from the ground up. When people talked s**t about my kids and told me I wasn’t gonna ever be s**t, I continued to make something beautiful, and this community center and The Black Joy Farm are my something beautiful.

For mommas like me, for mommas like my grand momma who did everything for everyone even when she ain’t have it, and for children like my children and I don’t want my something beautiful to no longer be able to inspire people. So I’m asking to please donate if you can, and if you can’t, to please share with people who can, so that I can keep this beautiful space open to continue to help people in this community.

More of this work that we do—while we try to bring community together, we also bring the vibes, the joy, and the eats! We’re still fighting to keep the Alice Fields Community Center open, and we’re still doing this work at the community center and at The Black Joy Farm!

Our GoFundMe campaign is still ongoing, and we’re almost there! Keeping this space open will help us continue building our community, inspire people, and love this community. Please consider sparing what you can, or even just sharing our work—either way, it will help us keep this space open!

Help us keep the Alice Fields Community Center open! If just 5,000 of you donate $10 each, we can continue bringing our community together—through the good times and the tough ones. Your support helps us inspire and empower Black women and girls, providing a space where everyone can express their full selves in an environment that welcomes creativity, uniqueness, and love. I love doing this work and inspiring you all, but inspiration alone can’t keep our doors open or support my loved ones and me. If you appreciate the work you’ve seen me do and want to help keep spaces like this alive, please donate if you’re able or share our mission with your circle. Every donation truly makes a difference. Click the GoFundMe link in our bio to help keep this vital community space thriving!
