An initiative of the BOLD (Bronx Oncology Living Daily) Program of Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care. New program assessing the needs of teens & young adults whose loved ones have cancer. Our goal is to develop the BOLD Brothers & Sisters Program into an interactive peer to peer support program for these teens and young adults.

BOLD Cancer Wellness Program, the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center was proud to nominate and honor Hope, BBS mentor and mentee, as she received the Youth Caregiver Award at this year's COME Outreach Caregiver Awards Ceremony in recognition of her accomplishments.

Hope is a high school senior where she has been a champion for families affected by cancer. Hope is an outgoing, hardworking go-getter and has noted to be a “strongest shoulder.” She seeks to “help my mom spiritually and raise her mental well-being during tough times" and tries hard to “build my family up.” She takes caregiving one day at a time.

Congratulations Hope!! Thank you to the COME Outreach Program for your empowerment of our amazing BOLD youth family caregivers.

We had fun on a BBS Mentor/Mentee Meet-up To College Tour Fordham University! Academic Excellence. Our volunteer Mentors would love to show other high school students in our Bronx cancer community their college campus and provide support through the application process. Hats off to Demi, one of our very special first BBS mentors, who just graduated from SUNY New Paltz with her Bachelors in African American/Black Studies! Demi shares, "In my experience with BOLD there has never been a dull moment. I have been strongly encouraged to try new things, ask questions, and be myself in the most unapologetic way despite any outside factors. I am blessed to have learned that it takes a village to not only get you through the good times, but also through the good times, and luckily, BOLD has become part of my family's village. Cheers to many more years of BOLD!"

BBS had a blast at our BIG APPLE circus outing over the holidays! There were many inspiring life stories shared by dedicated performers during the circus, as the theme was how we can "Dream Big" and overcome obstacles.
