Bronx Acorn

Bronx Acorn LOCAL UNION #3 IBEW , BRONX BOROUGH CLUB
ESTABLISHED ON JULY 6th 1932 The original name of the club was the Bronx Acorn Political Club.

It derived its name from Julie Korn, a Bronx District leader, who allowed the use of his headquarters by the members of the club. Even in the early years, the members were aware of the importance of political education and involvement. The Bronx Acorn Social Club was chartered on July 6, 1932. It was one of the five original administrative clubs of Local Union #3, because at that time there was mu

ch internal strife within the union. The five original chartered clubs consisted of the Bronx Acorn Club, the Colony Club, Kingsboro Club, the Allied Club and the Staten Island Electrical Club.

The Bronx Acorn Club extends its deepest condolences to retired Bronx Acorn officer and longtime club member Scott "Scotty" Miller and his family on the passing of his beloved mother, Marie Miller.

Marie lived a life defined by love, service, laughter, and community. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, volunteer, and friend, she touched countless lives through her kindness, infectious personality, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Whether serving at St. Benedict's Church and School, building lifelong friendships in Throgg's Neck, or embracing retirement in Florida with the same enthusiasm and joy that defined her life, Marie left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She will be remembered for her warmth, positive spirit, sense of humor, and the love she shared with family and friends throughout her remarkable life.

Please keep Scotty, his family, and all who loved Marie in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The Electchester Street Fair is almost here, and we're looking forward to an amazing day on Sunday, February 7th!

First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already stepped up to volunteer. Your support is what helps make events like this possible.

We're still looking for a few more helping hands. Whether you can join us the day before for setup, help finish preparations as early as 6:00 AM on event day, assist with the rides between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM, or lend a hand with breakdown and cleanup afterward, every bit of help makes a difference.

We're hoping for a 2-3 hour commitment, but any time you're able to give is greatly appreciated.

If you've been thinking about volunteering, this is a great opportunity to support our community, connect with others, and help create a memorable day for everyone who attends.

Lets take care of our second neighborhood as all of our honored started here. Can reach out to Caleen at (646) 598-9751 to volunteer. Thank you

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph F. Seidel. Joseph was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother uncle and friend. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Kim, and was a proud and dedicated father to Joseph, LeeAnn and Reese. He also was a Brother-in-Law to Steven and Keith Moy and Son in law to Lenny Moy.

Today is more than a day off for some.
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Their sacrifice is the reason we have the freedoms, opportunities, and ordinary moments we at times take for granted.
As we spend time with family and friends today, let us also pause to honor those who never made it home. 🇺🇸

Rainy weekend blues? We've got the sunshine vibes next week 😎☀️

Join us for our special BBQ Meeting this Tuesday, May 26th at 5:00 p.m. at the American Turner Clubs waterfront lawn! Good food, good conversation, and a chance to connect with your brothers and sisters outside the usual meeting room atmosphere.

We'll be serving up food fresh off the grill and also excited to welcome Midtown Manhattan Business Representative Michael Jordan as our guest speaker.

Forecast says 70s, so be ready to enjoy the weather with us. Bring a fellow member, apprentice, retiree, or someone interested in learning more. The more chairs we have to pull up to the table, the better.

See you by the waterfront!

Just like attending classes, taking extra shifts, or earning certifications helps us grow professionally, attending union meetings is another important way to invest in ourselves and our future.

Union meetings give us the opportunity to get information straight from the source, ask relevant questions about our industry and our union, and show support for our leadership face to face. Every member’s presence matters, and staying informed helps keep us strong together.

Bring a fellow member along and be social before and agree the meeting. See you there!

Calling all members, especially our young workers and NextGen leaders! We are looking to the future of the ibw to lead the way of making our trade more inclusive.

The Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC) Local 3 Chapter is gearing up to march in the upcoming Pride Parade, and we need you to show up and show out. Representing our union means standing for solidarity, inclusion, and the idea that an injury to one is an injury to all.

To make a statement, we’re asking everyone to grab the official EWMC Pride shirt. The link to purchase can be found in our bio. Deadline is May 17th.

Construction Safety Week is here!

Safety isn’t just a box to check, It’s the reminder that every hard hat, pair of gloves, and set of safety glasses is a line of defense between a normal day and a life-changing moment. PPE isn’t optional armor, it’s your everyday shield. You wear it not just for yourself, but for the people waiting on you when the shift ends.

Just as important as what’s on your body is who’s arond you. It’s speaking up when something looks off. It’s checking in on your fellow worker next to you. It’s understanding that safety isn’t a solo act, it’s a crew effort.

Because at the end of the day, the goal isn’t just to finish the job, but also make sure everybody walks off that site the same way they walked on.
