Today marks the beginning of the trial of Muhammad Sharifullah, “ Jafar”.

He is being tried for his involvement in the Abbey Gate bombing that occurred on August 26, 2021 in Kabul, Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of 13 US service members and wounding 45 American service members. One of those lives lost in the horrific attack was Son, brother, husband, and father to be, USMC LCPL RYLEE MCCOLLUM.

Prior to August 26, 2021, Sharifulla was detained and being held (2019) by the NDS (Afghanistan National Directorate of Security). He was ultimately released from prison during the fall of Kabul and the Biden administration's decision to give up Bagram Airforce Base.

These decisions and actions allowed for the planning and ex*****on of the terrorist attack at HKIA on August 26, 2021.

Sharifullah is charged with planning and participating in the attack at Abbey Gate.
