Thank you so much for coming out to our Let’s Play Houston Community Engagement POP UP this past weekend! In case you missed it, we are BURSTING with excitement to share some key informational highlights from the event:

To align with the $2 million dollar project budget from Let’s Play Houston, the American Legion Park Revitalization will be a modified version of Phase I of the Master Plan generated from our two previous community input meetings. The plans are pinned to our page for easy viewing access. Construction on our park will likely begin at the end of 2027 and finish up in early 2028!

Join Friends of American Legion Park and Houston Parks Board (HPB) on Sunday, April 26 from 4 to 6 PM for a pop-up event at American Legion Park (3621 Golf Dr, Houston, TX 77018).

We want to hear from YOU! Join HPB as we gather community feedback on priorities for future improvements, based on the master plan that was completed in May 2024. If you participated in that effort, we appreciate your support and are asking people to come back out and prioritize improvements with current funding available through the new Let’s Play Houston initiative.

American Legion Park is a part of the Let’s Play Houston initiative, a collaborative led by City of Houston Mayor John Whitmire, Houston Parks Board, and Houston Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with companies, foundations, and private donors, to revitalize 25 neighborhood parks.

The pop-up event will feature:

Q&A, design boards, and opportunity to learn next steps
🧊 FREE KONA ICE!
🫧 Bubble fun!

We are elated that American Legion Park has been selected as one of the 25 neighborhood parks to be revitalized in the citywide Let's Play Houston program! You can learn more about Let's Play Houston and find a list of the other parks that are included here.

Thank you to all the folks that came out to Wakefield Wonderland at Wakefield Crowbar this past Saturday. The letters to Santa were a big hit along with the train!

We appreciate Wakefield Crowbar's continued generous support of our neighborhood park. A portion of the proceeds from bar sales and the co****le tournament will benefit the American Legion Park Revitalization Project!

We'll be hosting the Santa Letter Writing table, so please stop by to say hi when you are at the event!
