As the date for our Blessing Ceremony approaches, the Altech workers are hard at work finishing the inside of the building.

Even from the outside, the new Outreach building showcases many improvements over our current location. The sidewalks and spacious parking lot are among the first things noticed. Another wonderful addition is the ramp connecting the building to the pavilion.

We are excited about the covered pavilion, complete with a large ceiling fan and fabulous picnic tables, which will provide our clients with a comfortable and welcoming place to enjoy lunch.

Members of Immaculate Conception’s Matthew 25 Ministry in Little Rock visited the Outreach Center. Deacon Leon, along with several volunteers, led a tour of the facility and shared how the ministry serves the community. He highlighted the ways volunteers go above and beyond to care for clients with compassion and dignity.

During their visit, the Matthew 25 Ministry generously donated 300 much-needed hygiene kits and presented a $5,000 check to support the operations of the Outreach Center.

We are grateful for your generosity. As 2 Corinthians 9:12 reminds us, such acts of service not only meet needs but also overflow in thanksgiving. Because of your faithfulness, our clients will feel seen, valued, and loved. Thank you for being His hands and feet.

Although the individuals we serve at the Outreach may change from day to day, the heart of the mission remains the same. Each morning begins with volunteers gathering for prayer before the doors open. Dcn. Leon welcomes everyone with announcements and prayer. Regardless of who comes through the doors, a meal is served with kindness, dignity, and a smile.

Monday was a busy day at the Outreach, with volunteers serving 321 meals. The center is decorated for Mardi Gras, and each client was offered festive beads as they entered.

Several clients were asked what they like most about the Outreach:

Debra — “My favorite thing is the people.”
Robert — “The food.”
Gina — “The people who run it are always gracious.”
Davarion — “The beautiful people, and the coffee can’t be beat.”
Garry — “The atmosphere.”

Their responses speak volumes. The kindness and hospitality shown by our volunteers reflect the love of Jesus Christ in action.

It was an exciting weekend as the new Outreach building was blessed during a Building Framing Scripture event, held before the insulation and drywall are installed, to dedicate the space to God. Father William invited St. Edward’s parishioners to visit the site and write their favorite scripture or prayer on the studs.

As the walls go up, these prayers and words of faith will remain within them, reminding us that the new Outreach is being built not only with care and craftsmanship, but firmly on the foundation of God.

The ice storm didn’t slow progress on the new building for long, and this week we’re already seeing exciting progress. Siding is up, the front windows and doors are installed, concrete has been poured for the retaining wall, and work is underway on the sidewalk and parking lot. We’re grateful to the Altech, Inc. team for their attention to detail and for maintaining such a clean, well-organized construction site as they build our new facility.

It’s been an exciting week watching the Outreach building take shape. The Altech, Inc. crew has been hard at work, with the roof now completed on both the building and the pavilion, along with the installation of insulation. Windows will be installed as soon as they arrive. We continue to witness the goodness of God throughout this process.
