What happens when the very qualities that make you a loving, faithful, compassionate wife are used against you?

In this deeply vulnerable episode, Christi shares her story of a marriage she spent years trying to save—believing that being more submissive, selfless, and more faithful was what God was asking of her.
What she couldn't see at the time was how slowly the line between biblical submission and abusive control had been blurred, and how Scripture, empathy, and her desire to be a good wife were being used to keep her trapped.
Christi opens up about the gradual conditioning that caused her to lose trust in her own instincts and how a relationship she once refused to call abusive eventually escalated into emotional, spiritual, sexual, and physical abuse—and why abuse does not have to become "bad enough" before we are allowed to recognize it for what it is.

Together, we unpack coercive control, fawning, trauma bonds, people-pleasing, spiritual abuse, narcissistic abuse, self-abandonment, and the devastating confusion that can happen when someone continually moves the line of what you believe is normal.

Christi's story is painful, powerful, and ultimately filled with hope—a reminder that what was meant to destroy you does not get to have the final word.
