Into Action Recovery is pleased to announce its partnership with Oranges from Morgan, a non-profit organization founded by a family who has experienced a loss like that of the Into Action Recovery founders. Both organizations have faced the profound tragedy of losing a loved one to substance use disorder. The Mayo family, formerly of Wilmington, lost their daughter Morgan in 2019 at the age of 22. Morgan was committed to supporting individuals affected by substance use disorder and aspired to become a psychiatrist; unfortunately, she relapsed and passed away due to an overdose. Following a path like the board members of Into Action Recovery, the Mayo family chose to honor Morgan’s legacy by transforming their grief into meaningful action.
Additionally, Board Member Steve Goodell and his wife Lois established the Robbie Goodell Foundation in memory of their son, Robbie, who passed away at the age of 21 in 2015.
Through this collaboration, we are proud and excited to announce the upcoming opening of our women’s facility, Morgan’s Sober Living this fall. The Robbie Goodell Foundation was instrumental in obtaining funding to support this effort.The residence is currently undergoing renovation and will feature the same mission, values, and structure as our established men’s facility, Fox Run Sober Living.
