💼 Leadership isn’t about having the best idea… It’s about getting people moving in the same direction!

Two weeks ago, Charlie Poe joined the Rotary Club of Terrell for a great conversation on leadership, business, & what separates high-performing organizations from everyone else.

One takeaway really stood out:

👉🏼 “Most don’t have a strategy problem. They have an ex*****on problem.”

Charlie challenged us to think about the little things that create excellence…. Like showing up, staying consistent, building momentum, holding ourselves accountable, & actually executing the plan. Because a great leader can make an average idea succeed, while poor leadership can make even the best idea fail!!

That’s one of the things we love about Rotary. 💛 It’s not only about serving our community… it’s a room full of business owners, professionals & community leaders learning from one another & becoming better leaders together.

💙⚙️ Welcome to Rotary, Amanda!

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of officially inducting Amanda Leyva as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Terrell! 🎉

Amanda is the new Campus Director for TVCC here in Terrell, after previously serving as Campus Director at the Kaufman campus. We’re excited to have another local leader join us who cares about our community & the people in it. 🤝🏼

No speaker that day… just good food, great conversation, a few laughs, & time spent getting to know one another. Sometimes those are the best Rotary meetings. ❤️

🏀🏈 Did you know BIG-TIME Division I athletics are right in our backyard?! 🦁

We had a great program at Rotary last week learning about East Texas A&M Athletics & the exciting things happening just 45 minutes from Terrell!

East Texas A&M has made the move to NCAA Division I, is bringing in talent from across the U.S. & around the WORLD 🌎, & has a brand-new event center/basketball arena on the way!!

Even better… the athletic program is proud of a 100% graduation rate for its student-athletes! That alone is something to celebrate!! 🙌🏼

From high-level basketball 🏀, to football Saturdays 🏈, there’s a lot happening just down the road.

🦁 Looks like Terrell may need to start making some trips to Commerce! 🚘

A heartfelt thank you to the Rotary Club of Terrell and everyone who supported their Annual Bowling Fundraiser at Film Alley! Thanks to those who purchased tickets and supported the event, $2,950 was raised and donated to Terrell ISD’s Teacher Classroom Shop!

The Rotary Club of Terrell had an amazing time bowling and raising money for the Terrell ISD Teacher shop on July 30th at Film Alley. Members, non members and guests bowled the night away and spent time socializing and laughing.

💜 A powerful and heartfelt program at Rotary this week.

Mike, a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, shared his family’s journey after his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She had taught in Terrell for more than 30 years, and after her diagnosis, she passed away just 11 months later. One of the first signs was something as simple as needing written directions above the coffee maker.

Today, more than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and the disease affects not only those diagnosed but also the families and caregivers who walk alongside them every day.

If you or someone you love is facing Alzheimer’s, know that you’re not alone. There is a local support group here in Terrell, and the Alzheimer’s Association offers education, resources, and hope for families across the country.
