EAA Chapter 1098

EAA Chapter 1098 The Shawnee, OK, EAA Chapter 1098 is an official Chapter of the EAA, Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54903-3089. Chapter dues are $20.00 per year, payable on January 1.

You do not need to own an experimental aircraft to join our chapter or attend our events. EAA Chapter 1098 meets at 2:30pm on the 4th Saturday of each month at the Gordon Cooper Aviation Campus located just north of Shawnee Regional Airport (SNL). Shawnee is approximately 25 miles east of the Oklahoma City metro area. Chapter 1098 was organized to promote aviation in the community, provide camarad

erie, sharing of aeronautical knowledge and skills among those with interest in grassroots aviation and who share the objectives of the EAA. Normally our meetings are held on the Forth Saturday of the month at 2:30 PM at Gordon Cooper Tech Aviation Campus 2600 N Airport Dr, Shawnee, OK 74804, Shawnee Airport (KSNL). Time, date and place are subject to change. Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our chapter. You do not need to own an experimental aircraft to attend our meetings. Anyone who has a love for aviation can attend.

It's almost time for EAA's LEARN TO FLY WEEK!! This year, EAA's Learn to Fly is May 11-14. This is geared towards those who want to know more about the pathway to a Private Pilot/Sport Pilot/Ultralight Pilot certificate, the types of General Aviation aircraft, flight training best practices, aviation weather and available resources from EAA. For 4 days, EAA will be offering FREE webinars each day with various topics that include, selecting your flight school, how to pass the FAA written test, learning to fly with a flight simulator, and FAA medical certification. Then on May 16 Learn to Fly week concludes with our Flying Start Event at the Gordon Cooper Aviation Campus (2600 N Airport Dr Shawnee, OK 74804). We will be begin with an information session presented by a Certified Flight Instructor-there will be plenty of time for questions and reference materials will be provided! Following the presentation will be FREE introductory flights provided by our Chapter pilots. This event is for those over 18 years old.

Flew down to Terrell, TX to the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum. What a gem of a museum! So many artifacts from when the school was open. There is even a Stearman that was used to train cadets when the school was operational! Nice day trip from the OKC area.
