TVCC Dean Dr. Debra Airheart introduced three change makers at TVCC: Sarah Easter, Savannah Cantrell, Breanna Rocha

These young ladies launched the Cardinal Pre-Health Club and shared what the club’s mission is, including supporting students who seek excellence in pursing their health-related careers. They also shared about Student Government and what they value at TVCC. Terrell Rotarians were impressed with their speaking and presentation skills as well as drive to provide opportunities for others at TVCC.

Terrell Rotarians welcomed District Governor Mary Bedowsky and guests, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cole, from the Athens Rotary Club. Today’s attendees learned about Terrell ISD programs, stats, and the purposes and needs to be supported by the May bond from Superintendent Warnock.

Trinity Valley Community College is growing and offering more programs to serve our comminity’s students including some bachelor’s degrees such as nursing (with education as well as business & finances, and medical degrees on the horizon), career and technology offerings, dual credits for high schoolers, continuing education in a number of areas, extracurriculars and clubs. Terrell Rotarians enjoyed learning more about Special Strong from Wess McDonald and his guest and son Ty Walker.

When Wess & Reshae McDonald moved with their family to Northeast Texas from the Houston area, they missed some of the opportunities that they previously had access to for their son with special needs. Now, they’re excited to bring Special Strong to their new community. Special Strong provides Adaptive Fitness Training for anyone with mental, cognitive, or physical challenges.

Jordan Iglehart was the winner of the gift card donated by Penske from our Annual Chili Supper. Chris Rivera, Project Manager of Orkin, locally in Terrell accepted the gift card on behalf of Jordan.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Chili Supper and donated to support Kaufman County Children’s Shelter.

Danny Noah with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes spoke to Terrell Rotarians today. The organization’s mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Christ through various platforms including on-campus sports or youth sports using the service of many volunteers. . In our area, the focus is on inter scholastic athletics and with athletics departments of various schools.

She will join a club committed to community service including the recent Chili Chow Down where all proceeds were committed to benefit the Kaufman County Children’s Shelter.
