We cannot say enough good things about our friends at Earl C Rodgers & Associates. We have been chasing a leak in our admin building for a number of months now. Mike Shaw has never hesitated to drop what he’s doing and try to help us figure out the source of the problem. We finally think we’ve got it and it is ALL thanks to Mike and his team.

I have never encountered a business in the Wabash Valley with as much heart as this business.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for CODA!

What does CODA expect to see after this transition?

Based on other programs that have made the switch, we expect to see large increases in the number of Survivors that we are helping in the counties that we serve.

"I heard CODA is closing, is that true?"

No, CODA is not closing. In fact, we are expanding our services! Traditional shelters only reach 5% of people experiencing domestic and sexual violence, leaving 95% to find safety alone.

Is this transition happening due to funding cuts?

No. This shift is proactive on the part of our Board of Directors. We know that organizations like CODA will likely see reductions in funding for shelters at the State and Federal levels. Transitioning to mobile advocacy will protect the funding that we do have and prioritize resources for what matters most: helping Survivors.

Mobile Advocacy is not a new service model! Programs in other states have already made this transition and CODA is the 4th program in Indiana to transition to mobile advocacy.

Other programs in our state that have made the switch include:

The Center for Women and Families (Clark and Floyd Counties)
Hands of Hope (Grant County)
A Better Way (Muncie)

The CODA Board of Directors and Staff are excited to announce that this summer we will be transitioning from a traditional shelter service model to a mobile advocacy service model.

With this change, we will be serving 95% of people experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault that will, statistically, never utilize shelter services. For those that DO need shelter services, we will be using alternative shelter (a service that we are already providing). You can find more information on our social media in the weeks to come and on our website.

One thing will not change: Our 24/7 hotline will ALWAYS be available, with an advocate on the other end to listen, answer questions and to let you know that you are not alone.
