As I settle into my role as Executive Officer of the Western Indiana Builders Association, I’ve been reflecting on just how many incredible people have poured into me along the way.
A very special thank you to my “EO sister,” Mary C Ellis with Builders Association of Greater Lafayette (BAGL). No matter how busy she is, she always answers the phone, listens, encourages, and shares her knowledge with kindness and grace. Whether it’s a quick question or a big challenge, she’s always willing to help, and I am so grateful for her friendship and mentorship.
I’m equally thankful for the amazing professionals at both the Indiana Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders who have welcomed me, answered countless questions, and reminded me that none of us have to do this alone.
You may not always receive the recognition you deserve, but please know that the time, wisdom, and encouragement you so freely give are making a difference. Because of each of you, I’m not just learning this role, I’m truly falling in love with this profession, our association, and the mission of serving our members.
Thank you for believing in new leaders, for lifting others up, and for leading by example. I hope to one day pay that kindness forward the way you’ve done for me.
