Great news! The Local 4 negotiating team and the Indiana masonry contractors have come to a 3 year contract agreement with raises of 3.25, 3.45, and 3.55. Thanks to all the members who volunteered for the negotiating committee, the craft workers on the job ready to fight for fair wages, and the contractors who agreed that we are worth a fair raise.

We’re seeing a pattern with Google-linked data center projects: big promises to “invest in the community,” followed by out-of-area contractors moving in while local skilled trades workers and local businesses get cut out.
We saw it at Project Maize in Michigan City, Indiana. Now the same warning signs are showing up in Sullivan County, Indiana. If Google and its development partners want public trust—and public cooperation—then the project needs enforceable guarantees: a binding Project Labor Agreement (PLA) and a written local hiring and local contracting plan before more work gets awarded.
