Our endeavor, currently called Protect the Teens aims to:
Honor the lives of the lost teens and teachers who perished at the Sewol Ferry;
Work at the same time to get back our girls in Nigeria
Protect future children of a similar fate by creating trade related security certification processes globally
Form a global organization directed at protecting teens worldwide
We recognize that children ar
e often in a protected status because of their age. However, as teens they are not old enough to know when they are in dangerous conditions. Therefore they are an unprotected class of people who need greater protection, in their schools such as Nigeria, and when traveling on public transportation in groups. The Korean community in the United States has reacted with horror and anger at the incompetence and corruption that led to the Sewol Ferry disaster, which included over-loading of the boat, lack of proper training of the staff, and now the disappearance of the owner of the ferry --thus the inability to mete justice after so many children have died. We would like to first establish a public ceremony to bring national attention to the memory of the Korean teens who have died, and secondly to highlight the urgency of the situation of the Nigerian girls whose health, lives, and sanity are in danger while they are held captive for political reasons that have nothing to do with them.
