It is with a heavy heart that tonight I announce my resignation from the Temple High Athletic Booster Club to streamline the change to new club leadership following a leave of absence which I initiated in December.
Over the last three plus years it has been a pleasure to work on behalf of all of the student-athletes, coaches, and athletic programs of Temple High School.
I believe that significant progress has been made in building up the THABC from where it was when I took over in July of 2022, and the club is now at a precipice of moving to even bigger possibilities.
Unfortunately, that success has led to inevitable political disagreement from the larger athletic programs that has placed the THS Administration’s and my vision concerning the future of the club at odds.
At tonight’s meeting, a vote was attempted to remove me as President of the THABC which was supported by a subset of members/athletic programs and key THS administration. While the vote was not successful and failed to reach anywhere near the required number of votes per our bylaws, it has become evident that the politics involved with being the club’s president had become unsustainable and led to my final decision to resign.
I wish the THABC goodwill and success in their future endeavors and hope that the turmoil that has led me to this decision subside quickly so that they may get back to the work at hand.
