Some are extra special.

We appreciate every single donation that allows us to help pets in need in our community. But, some are extra special.

One of our wonderful volunteers recently lost her beloved fur baby, Ditzy. Through her grief, her thoughts were with helping others.

We are so sorry for your loss, Diane St James, and we thank you for honoring Ditzy by sharing her excess food with hungry pets on our community. 🌈 🐾

Shiloh is another lucky pup🍀🐶 who had a team of supporters at the Bell County Texas Animal Shelter. Shelter volunteer, and Husky aficionado, Paul partnered with Pam, co-founder of a nonprofit that supports the shelter, and Carolyn Donelson Holman to sponsor Shiloh’s spay and rabies vaccine with us 🥰 In true Husky fashion, she was our most vocal patient today, but did great. Shiloh was recently adopted and we want to thank her supporters for giving her a happy and healthy start to forever in her new home.

📰 Microchip scanning station used on puppy being carried across street by fox mom 🦊

Earlier today Good Samaritan Ben, who learned of our newly installed self-service microchip scanning station, brought a found puppy to be scanned for a microchip. 

But the way he came about the puppy was like nothing we had seen before.

As Ben was driving he saw a fox crossing the road. Being an animal lover he slowed down, which caused the fox to drop what ended up being an approximately 8-week old puppy. The fox let out a cry when Ben picked up the puppy so we don’t know if she had taken in the puppy as one of her own.

Unfortunately the puppy was not microchipped, so Ben brought him to the Temple Animal Shelter.

If this is your puppy, please bring her back to us, we would love to offer you a free microchip! As per the shelter’s regulations, if this puppy is not claimed by its family in 72 hours, he will be available for adoption. 

We are grateful to the Hess Family for donating the microchip scanning station, which is already being put to good use by the community 🧡🐾

We work with so many rescues that deserve all the accolades for being in the trenches everyday, helping the precious souls who need help the most 🧡

Our sweet girl Sage is headed to the vet today for her vaccines, microchip, and spay! Huge shout out to Human-Animal Support Coalition for ALWAYS helping our rescue dogs.❤️

We still can’t understand how someone could dump such a precious, loving puppy, but we’re thankful she’s safe with us now, getting all the attention, love, and care she deserves.

Sage rides wonderfully in the car and has been doing great with the other dogs. She enjoys having her own space and isn’t afraid to let other dogs know when they’re getting a little too close to her face.

She’s not quite ready for adoption yet, but she will be soon! Keep following along for updates on this beautiful girl as she continues her journey.

We're celebrating the installation of Temple's first self-microchip scanning station by giving away 50 FREE microchips courtesy of a $1,000 Spark Good grant from Walmart.

We also have FREE bags of kitty litter thanks to Dr. Elsey's for all cat parents & FREE pet food for any families in need.

We'll have some of our junior volunteers at the event hosting a lemonade stand fundraiser to support our Pets in Need program.

Come out, have fun, see how the scanning station works, and get your fur kiddos microchipped to get you reunited with them quickly in the event the are lost.
