UP NEXT WITH THE TEMPLE BAND
The Temple Band Welcomes New Members for 2026 – 2027 Season as Rehearsals Resume
Enhance your music experience, dust off those band instruments and join The Temple Band as we resume weekly rehearsals for the 2026-2027 season, beginning Monday, October 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at The Temple Town Hall in Temple, NH. New members are welcome to join on Monday nights through October (12, 19, and 26).
The Temple Band, "America's First Town Band", is an all-volunteer, non-profit community band drawing members, ranging in age from 9 to 90, from the Monadnock and Souhegan Valley regions of southern NH. There are no dues, fees or auditions required, however two years’ experience on your concert band instrument is requested and a commitment to try to make half of our rehearsals and shows. We would love to see more clarinets, trumpets, saxophones, flutes….but all concert band instruments are welcome.
Of special interest to homeschoolers, middle school and high school musicians; the Temple Band offers an annual scholarship for graduating seniors who have made a serious commitment to the Band.
The Band, under the direction of Gordon Estabrook, meets for weekly rehearsals on Monday night from from October to May. Our music includes something for everyone; marches, swing, show tunes, Dixieland, jazz, novelty pieces, the classics, original compositions… Our performance venue includes about 12 summer events scheduled throughout New England and a Holiday benefit performance.
Rehearsals are held in the Town Hall, located on Route 45 south off Route 101 in the center of Temple, NH.
