Today, we join countless others in mourning the heartbreaking loss of Fire Driver Zach French of the Round Rock Fire Department.

In the fire service, we are more than coworkers—we are family. The bonds forged through shared sacrifice, long hours, challenging calls, and a commitment to serving others create connections that run deep. When one firefighter is lost, that loss is felt not only within their department, but throughout the entire firefighting community. It reaches across city limits, county lines, and state borders, touching the hearts of those who understand the dedication, courage, and selflessness required to answer the call.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Zach’s family as they face the unimaginable pain of losing a beloved son, family member, and friend. We also lift up his brothers and sisters at the Round Rock Fire Department, along with the many friends, colleagues, and community members whose lives were impacted by his service and presence.

During this incredibly difficult time, we ask our community to keep all those affected in your prayers. May they find strength in one another, comfort in the memories they shared, and peace in knowing that Zach’s service, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

Recently, our building sustained a water leak which resulted in water saturation and damage to insulation, ceiling tiles, drywall, carpet, and some contents.

Upon finding this, we relied upon our trusted relationship with Jackson Cheeseman and Belfor Property Restoration to help us mitigate the damage and restore the property. They had a crew on site almost immediately and made sure everything was handled professionally. This was followed up with strategic placement of air movers and dehumidifiers along with daily monitoring. We are very pleased with the end result and want to give praise where it’s due.

Please join us in welcoming Chief Perez to Temple Fire & Rescue as our new Fire Chief.

The City of Temple has selected Christopher Perez as its next Fire Chief following a nationwide search that drew 43 candidates from 14 states.

Perez brings over 28 years of experience with the Laredo Fire Department, where he has served in a variety of leadership roles and built a strong track record of operational excellence, collaboration, and leading multi-year capital improvement initiatives. He will begin serving Temple on July 6, 2026.

We’re proud to share that the interview process for the next Fire Chief of Temple Fire & Rescue has officially concluded, with the City’s final selection still to come.

On behalf of all the members of Temple Professional Firefighters Association, we want to express our sincere gratitude to our City Leadership for including us throughout such an exhaustive, thoughtful, and inclusive process. The level of engagement and consideration given to our perspective reflects the kind of leadership that is committed to doing things the right way.

This process demonstrated a strong commitment to transparency, collaboration, and the long-term success of our department and community. That kind of approach doesn’t go unnoticed, and it deserves to be recognized.

We’re excited about what lies ahead for Temple Fire & Rescue. The future is bright, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community with pride, professionalism, and a shared vision for excellence.

The selection process for the next Fire Chief of Temple Fire & Rescue has reached an exciting stage as four finalists remain in the running!

After a nationwide search, four finalists have been named in the search for Temple’s next Fire Chief.

Congratulations to Chief Brown, and a warm welcome to Temple. We’re glad to have you here!

The City of Temple has selected Coy Brown as its next Police Chief following a nationwide search that drew 32 candidates from eight states.

Brown brings nearly two decades of experience with the Cedar Park Police Department, where he has served in a variety of leadership roles and built a strong track record of team development, community engagement, and organizational growth. He will begin serving Temple on May 1, 2026.

What an amazing way to spend your Friday!

Today marked the latest edition of our annual Fire in the Hole Golf Tournament. A huge Shout-Out to all of our sponsors, a big Thank You to all who competed, amd Congratulations to our winners. We couldn't do this without the continued support from you guys!

If you've never joined us, be sure to look for us next year. The tournament starts with a ball-drop from Truck1, and includes several holes that have special challenges. This year we had a long drive/closest to the pin challenge, a water-hazard/shotgun challenge, and even a putting challenge forcing golfers to putt with an axe.

Today's event raised over $7,000. These funds are used by TPFFA-LOCAL 846, to continue work right here, in our community.
