Meet Irene , she works our resource office.  And is our volunteer spotlight of the week. In her own words this is what FMS means to her and we are blessed to have her!

I’m so grateful to have found an organization that allows me to serve others in a way that truly speaks to my heart.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt called to use the resources, experiences, and knowledge God has given me to help others. I wasn’t sure which organization I would become a part of, but I knew deep in my heart that I wanted to do more. I spent a lot of time praying and asking God to use me, to guide me, and to place me where I could make a difference in someone’s life. I knew that the things I’ve been through and the lessons I’ve learned could help me connect with others who may be facing difficult seasons of their own.
Every day I walk through the doors of Feed My Sheep, I’m reminded of why I’m there. Whether I’m assisting someone with their needs or simply offering a kind word, a listening ear, or a welcoming smile, my goal is to help every person feel seen, valued, and comfortable. I want people to know that they matter, that they are not invisible, and that they don’t have to face everything alone.
I may not always know someone’s full story or understand every circumstance they’re going through, but I understand the feelings that can come with needing help, not knowing where to turn, or feeling unsure of where to begin. Sometimes, people need more than assistance with their immediate needs. They need compassion, understanding, dignity, and someone who will meet them where they are without judgment.
That’s one of the many reasons I’m so grateful for Feed My Sheep. ❤️
I also want to help spread awareness about this incredible organization serving our community here in Temple. Many people may know Feed My Sheep for the hot meals we provide, but there is so much more to what we do. Our mission reaches beyond a meal. It’s about serving people, meeting needs, building connections, and reminding others that there is a community that cares.
I feel truly blessed to be part of this organization and to have the opportunity to serve others with love. I believe God can use each of us, in our own way, to bring hope, kindness, and encouragement to someone who needs it. Sometimes, even the smallest act of kindness can make a bigger difference than we realize.
I’m thankful that God led me to Feed My Sheep, and I pray that I can continue to be a helping hand, a listening ear, and a loving reminder to others that they are seen, they matter, and they are worthy of compassion. 🙏❤️
