Central Counties Services

Central Counties Services Meeting Behavioral & Developmental Needs. Central Counties Services has served over 70,000 people with mental disabilities since 1967.

The Centerโ€™s services have fluctuated over time depending funding available. The changing state and federal rules that accompany the Centerโ€™s funding have also played a role in determining what services are provided for specified populations in the Centerโ€™s five-county catchment area. The activities at the Center tell a story of how the Center was started and continues to meet the complex challeng

es of the times. Much has been accomplished toward moving the Center from its early caretaker role to being a high quality sophisticated treatment agency that proudly serves the citizens in Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, and Milam counties.

Strength doesn't always look like pushing through. Sometimes it's resting. Sometimes it's asking for help. Sometimes it's just making it to tomorrow.

Whatever today looks like for you, you're doing enough. ๐Ÿ’œ

Social media can be a huge drain on your mental health. Studies show a link between excessive social media use and increased rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues, particularly among adolescents. While these platforms can support connection and community, they may also negatively affect emotional well-being when used excessively. Recognizing these effects can help people develop healthier habits online.

Constant comparison with othersโ€™ highlight reels may lead individuals to feel inadequate or unsuccessful, which can contribute to increased anxiety and signs of depression over time.

A healthy relationship with social media doesnโ€™t mean deleting it โ€” it means using it with awareness. It means asking:
โ€ข Why am I here right now?
โ€ข How do I feel when I leave this space?
โ€ข Am I consuming or connecting?
Here are 6 steps to social media self-care โ€” because your feed should nourish, not drain. Check in with yourself, and remember: likes arenโ€™t love, and logging off is absolutely a power move.
