Dear Community Partners,
The Bell County Autism Intervention Team (BAIT) and our community partners are excited to invite you to an upcoming training, Partnering to Protect Series: Strengthening Community Response, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG) in Belton, Texas.
This interactive training is designed to bring together law enforcement, first responders, educators, social workers, disability service providers, community organizations, advocates, and other professionals who support individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Our goal is to strengthen community partnerships, promote awareness, and equip professionals with practical strategies to support the safety, dignity, and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

Training Topics Include:
Understanding autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings
Recognizing signs of distress and responding effectively to crisis situations
Strengthening communication and de-escalation strategies
Promoting safety, respect, and positive interactions
Connecting individuals and families with community resources
Applying strategies through real-world scenarios and collaborative discussions
