Lupus is one of the cruelest, most mysterious diseases on earth-an unpredictable and misunderstood autoimmune disease that ravages different parts of the body. It is difficult to diagnose, hard to live with, and a challenge to treat. It affects approximately 1.5 million Americans; it is two to three times more common among African Americans, Hispanics and Latinos, American Indians and Asians. Lupu

s occurs 10 to 15 times more frequently among adult females and it is potentially fatal. The Lupus Foundation of America, Heart of Texas at Temple–Walk to End Lupus Now™ (formerly called, the “Killeen Walk to End Lupus Now™ ) will host its 5th Annual Walk to End Lupus Now™ on Saturday, May 21, 2016 - 10am - City Hall, Temple, Texas (2 N. Our hope in hosting this event is to bring awareness to this disease by reaching those who have been affected and giving them a day in which the community they live in is walking with them in this battle to end Lupus. Our event will attract over 1,000 participants and your involvement will assist in making the event hugely successful. Proceeds from the Walk to End Lupus Now™ will benefit local programs and services available to people living with lupus in our community. We provide the most accurate
up-to-date information on Lupus, support individuals through education, local support groups, local resources, and fund lupus research. The Heart of Texas Support Group meets every 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30pm; LOCATION TO BE ANNOUNCED
