My name is Beecher Clifton-Waite. I am a junior at ConVal Regional High School in the town of Peterborough, New Hampshire. I spend most of my time during the winter months at a nearby ski resort, Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride. The mountain is a popular place for students and adults in the ConVal community. Many of my friends and peers in the school district have the chance to go skiing or snowboard
ing, but some are unable to. Skiing is my passion and I think everyone who wants to ski or snowboard should be able to do so. Considering it is a luxury activity, it can be too expensive for some. Why can't everyone share the same passion I do? I thought. About a year ago, I thought about that idea. I wanted to make something happen that benefited my community. As I brainstormed, I concluded that I wanted to form a charity that specialized in giving under-served students in the ConVal School District the chance to ski or snowboard if they desired. I gave it a lot of thought and ended up naming my non-profit organization Live Free and Ski, Inc. Registered in New Hampshire, the corporation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization to allow donations to be tax deductible. I have completed some fundraisers and raised enough money to put a few students out on the slopes. But I want to do more than that. This is why I am asking you to please donate to my charity of Live Free and Ski to allow everyone to experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding. All profits earned will directly go to the students' scholarships for lift passes, equipment rentals, and lessons. Everyone has a passion. Wouldn't you want others to be able to experience that passion?
