God's Lighthouse Academy

God's Lighthouse Academy In our day and age, parents all over the United States are becoming increasingly interested in homeschooling. Or for some, all of the above may be a factor.

God's Lighthouse Academy & it's Ministries, serves the community with outreach programs, birthing measurable differences, & providing a safe, edifying, individualized, & Christ-centered learning environment for children of all ages. Our ministry is to serve the community by providing a safe, edifying, individualized, and Christ-centered learning environment for children of all ages; our primary go

al is to reach out to families in the community that do not have the ability to provide this environment for any reason for themselves. You are probably already aware of or even know of some parents who would love to home school their children. However, some may be working parents, some may not have the confidence in their own abilities to teach, others may be dealing with children with children with special needs and are in need of help and support. Since 2002, my heart was moved to home school my oldest children, never envisioning that 14 years later, as I have continued homeschooling my younger children, that my heart would be drawn and open to being the support for these parents. Therefore, what once was a personal ministry to my own children, God’s Lighthouse, became open to parents with the same burden – to teach their children to first love the Lord with all their hearts, souls, and minds, knowing that with this foundation firmly rooted, all knowledge will follow (Matthew 22:37-38). Although I desire every child and parent to have this opportunity, I believe that every parent should be involved in their own child’s education and spiritual growth. Thus, God’s Lighthouse is not intended to substitute a public or private school, or even the inherent responsibility of parents to be the spiritual leaders in their child’s life. For the past seven years, God has allowed us to grow not just in number of students, but in vision altogether: God has provided 12 volunteers in the school-aged program each working either in a full-time or part-time capacity. All volunteers have become vital advocates in the Lord for these children. There are also 7 local pastors involved leading weekly chapel services for the students. Consequently, the vision of our ministry, a service mission toward the educational and spiritual growth of children, has been infectious to a new generation – the students of God’s Lighthouse themselves. We believe that they have also taken steps into their own personal service missions. In their service to our local communities, they too have been used as vital, enthusiastic advocates of the Lord; I’ve personally seen this demonstrated in their service within nursing homes, shelters, local food giveaways, international feeding projects, and in meeting others’ general needs. These students have come together from different homes and churches for a sole purpose – to show the love of Christ to all. All students are taught that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, that salvation comes by grace through faith in Christ, repentance from sin, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, students are taught to function in the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit; and they are also encouraged to be a part of a midweek children’s service as well as their Sunday services. Since 2011, a stirring has taken place among the original group of volunteers to continue a long-term ministry to serve children. Thus the formal organization, God’s Lighthouse, was formed. I am very excited about the opportunities ahead for God’s Lighthouse, including its students and families, and please know that I consider your contribution and support invaluable to our ministry. Sincerely your servant in the Lord,
