Make way for Mei-Kuei! 🤩

Coming up this week: Art, Breath & Creativity: A Creative Evening with Mei-Kuei Chan Cruise!

This community workshop will combine gentle breathing exercises, creative expression, and cultural arts in a relaxed gallery setting. Participants will have an opportunity to experience simple mindfulness practices, create a small art piece to take home, learn about my artistic journey, and engage in conversation with fellow community members.

The evening will include art-making, storytelling, cultural sharing, and time to connect with one another while enjoying the gallery environment.

No previous art experience is necessary, and all ages are welcome!

🎨 Creative Deck Sessions is a night focused on collage, creativity, music, and community.

✨ Create your own up-cycled skateboard deck art piece! We’ll have collage supplies ready to go, but feel free to bring magazines, stickers, photos, materials, or anything else you want to create and personalize with.

🛹 Skateboard decks provided by Sidewalk Surfer 🫶

🎧 Open Turntables all night!
Bring records and sign up for a 15-minute slot to spin, mix, experiment, or just have fun behind the decks. FCFS sign-up.

✨ New to DJing? No pressure.
A few of the Ladies Who Brunch crew will be there to help beginners get comfortable.

🎶 Not ready to mix? Bring vinyl anyway — we’ll play your records for you.

While the Sonoran Desert serves as an important point of reference, the exhibition looks beyond literal botanical imagery to consider growth as a concept, process, or metaphor. The selected works reflect how artists cultivate identity, respond to change, navigate scarcity, build community, and engage with personal and ancestral histories.
