Since 1901, Tempe Firefighters have protected residents and served the community.

Together with our fellow chapters in Local 493, the Tempe Firefighters help raise about $1 million for charity annually.

Another mountain rescue early this morning in North Tempe. Crews responded to an injured male who suffered a broken leg after a fall. Due to the difficult terrain and his injury, firefighters used a big wheel rescue system to safely move him to the ambulance. He was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Your Tempe firefighters on Ladder 273 were called to assist 4 ducklings stuck in a storm drain 🦆🚒
After some careful work, crews were able to safely rescue all four and reunite them above ground. Solid work! 💪🏼

Today we remember Tommy Arriaga, who lost his battle with occupational cancer in 2020. ❤️‍🩹

This morning, Tempe firefighters gathered before sunrise to watch the sun come up and complete a workout in Tommy’s honor. A small way to remember a firefighter who gave so much to his department and community.

Tommy began his career with Tempe Fire Medical Rescue in 2014 and served on the Hazardous Materials Response Team from 2016–2019. He was recognized by the Tempe South Rotary Club as Outstanding Firefighter and Employee of the Year for his dedication to improving the fire service, even while battling cancer.

Tommy served with pride, humility, and courage. He will always be remembered as a hero to his family, his brothers and sisters in the fire service, and the community he loved.

We will never forget. ❤️

Last week, your Tempe Firefighters 🚒, with assistance from Mesa and AFMA crews 🤝, responded to a BBQ fire that had gotten out of control. Prior to our arrival, the fire had extended to the patio and into the residence.

Crews initiated a quick, aggressive fire attack 💪🔥 and conducted a primary search, successfully preventing further spread of the fire.

Our crisis response team, CARE7 ❤️, was also on scene providing support and assistance to everyone involved.

Proud to serve our community, together. 👊🏽🏡

Today we hiked Camelback Mountain in honor of Kyle Brayer on what would have been his 43rd birthday.

Every step up that mountain was taken with him in mind. We carry you with us always, Kyle. Happy Heavenly 43rd. ❤️🏔️

Today we pause to remember Kyle and reflect on the impact he continues to have on our brotherhood. His dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We stand with Kyle’s family, friends, and loved ones today and always. Rest easy, brother. You are remembered, honored, and missed.

Today marks one year since we lost our brother, Scott Leatham. Scott showed up for others without hesitation, brought strength to every situation, and left a mark on all of us.

We honor him today by remembering the way he lived. Selflessly serving others, taking care of his people, and doing the job the right way. His legacy lives on in the stories we tell and the lessons he taught us.

Gone, but never forgotten. We’ve got it from here, brother. ❤️ 🕊️

TFMRD Honor Guard was invited to present colors for the opening ceremony at the Cardinals home game VS the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It was the 28th event of the year that the TFMRD Honor Guard participated in.
