The American Sand Association (ASA) is seeking passionate, experienced members of the OHV community to serve on our Board of Directors.
If you care about protecting access, promoting responsible recreation, and ensuring future generations can enjoy our sand sports and dunes —this is your opportunity to step up and make a difference.
About ASA
ASA’s mission is simple and powerful:
UNITE, INFORM, and MOBILIZE the sand duning community to protect the right to ride on public lands in a responsible, environmentally balanced manner.
We are a volunteer-driven organization that works at the local, state, and national levels to keep OHV areas open and accessible—through education, advocacy, and strong partnerships.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
👉Have a background, history, or active involvement in the OHV community.
👉Believe in responsible recreation and stewardship.
👉Understand that access is earned through behavior and engagement.
Bring experience in areas such as:
✅Off-road recreation.
✅Land use or advocacy.
✅Sand sports.
✅Business, finance/accounting, marketing, or fundraising.
✅Event coordination.
✅Government or agency relations.
And, are willing to work as part of a team and contribute ideas, energy, and leadership.
What to Expect
Volunteer Position – Board members are not compensated.
Monthly Virtual Meetings – Consistent participation is important.
Field Engagement – Typically includes one or two trips per year to the Imperial Sand Dunes (Glamis).
Active Involvement – Board members help guide ASA strategy, outreach, and advocacy efforts
