Known for its small size, in-depth conversations, and collaborative spirit, ACCIS Colloquium offers independent school college counselors the time and space to reflect, create, and connect with colleagues from across the country. With three immersive pathways, The Art of the Recommendation, Integrating Identity and Values into the Curriculum, and Telling Stories with Data, this year’s theme, Story, Self, and Systems, explored the micro, meso, and macro layers of our work as storytellers and advocates. Thank you to our participants, facilitators, and our host, the University School of Nashville!

Member Matt Lane (Branson School) wishes us a Happy Pride, and how showing up as our true selves invites our students to do the same. Also, a shout out to the Point Foundation, which supports the educational aspirations of LGBTQ+ and ally students to become impactful leaders in their lives, careers, and communities.

Friday fun time, Juneteenth edition! ❤️🖤💚 Today we’re honoring Black freedom, resilience, and joy—and celebrating two scholarly cats and their purr-fect college matches, as featured in recent Brief issues

😻 Lastasha Boyd of Phillips Academy Andover shares that "Ava would fit right in at Cornell because she loves catching her toy bird, so she’s primed for a future in ornithology. She also enjoys hiding away in sun-filled quiet nooks, just like the cozy corners of Mann Library."

😻 Antoinette Truman of Buckingham Browne & Nichols School shares that R2-T2 (for Truman!) "is a PA boy at heart, just like his mother! He's a social boy and would want to be right at the heart of it all. He loves ice cream and would spend too much time at The Creamery. He's a big cat with a big personality just like the mascot, the Nittany Lion. Some would even say that R2 is secretly the mascot hiding in the costume at the games, cheering the team on!"
